The Old Main Street Bridge serves as an important link between the historical areas of Rocky Hill, Connecticut, and the neighboring Town of Wethersfield. BL recognized the importance of this local landmark and was committed to serve the community and their objectives. With the partnership of the Town and Arborio Corporation (contractor), the project was successfully completed in less than 20 months and under budget.
BL Companies delivered an innovative design by over-spanning the existing bridge with a precast concrete structure while maintaining the lower portion of the existing substructure. The Department of Transportation highlighted this project to other local communities to spark interest in the State Local Bridge Program.
