BL Companies prepared plans and specifications for the installation of a traffic control signal at the former Marcus Dairy site in Danbury, Connecticut. The site is being redeveloped into a retail center, requiring signalization of the main driveway on Sugar Hollow Road.
The design was coordinated with the City Traffic Department to include video detection, uninterruptible power supply and fiber interconnect into the City master system, along with a variety of proprietary equipment. The location of the driveway, essentially under a Route 7 overpass, required consideration of available vertical clearances and sight distance to the signals.
BL Companies also assisted the owner in obtaining approval from the Office of State Traffic Administration to partially open the center before the traffic signal was installed.
