BL Companies provided the structural design of multiple roof-mounted and ground-mounted solar arrays on each of the twenty-three Connecticut Department of Transportation highway service plazas, which will be tied into the building’s electrical panel. These systems, which total approximately 200kW, incorporate Trina panels on “Solarmount” rails or Schletter racking, and will include electronic monitoring and net metering for the utility company. BL Companies also provided electrical engineering for this project, which included wiring distribution, inverter selection and design of the electrical connection to the building’s electrical service.
