BL Companies has been named a 2025 Emerging Professional Friendly Firm by the New England Components of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The designation celebrates architecture firms across Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont that demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting the next generation of architects.
This recognition reflects BL Companies’ continued focus on mentorship, licensure support, and professional growth for architects in the early stages of their careers. Firms selected for this distinction must submit a rigorous survey completed collaboratively between one of the firm’s emerging professionals and a principal, evaluating policies related to professional development, licensure, mentorship, and participation in the NCARB Architectural Experience Program.
“This recognition affirms our ongoing commitment to creating an environment where our employee-owners, including architects at every stage of their careers, can thrive,” said Julia O’Brien, vice president of operations at BL Companies. “By investing in emerging professionals, we strengthen both our practice and the broader design community.”
BL Companies will be recognized during the 2025 New England Architecture Awards, hosted by AIA New Hampshire on October 24 at Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
